Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's comtemporary era, some proportion mass believes that in modern socitiy we have too many choices in are life and remaining people oppose this believe. Comparing to are perents era we definetly hve to many choices in some categories but in some we have loss choices. In my perpective we have more options.

There are many reason like, avaibility of technology which have help in many different way and also give prevealage of having any thing in one click of mobile .In this we have choise of being relex at home and order what every we want and online ordering concept also access different product what are not available in any shop. For instant, some busnesss like blinkit , zomato and many other how provide this servises to customer they normaly provide foods and drinks but only comfortable mannar.

Furthermore, some busnesses like textile has expand in hug proportion that they have all kind of cloths that is happen by machines that improve efficinecy and varities of cloths. For example, company like zudio has become popular due to providing different varities of machine made cloth next to everione house .In short choice has increase and demand also surged.

In contrary, in some categories people has loss choice as in job sector choice are very limited as compare to previous market and become difficult to people to cope ut to this problem. For example , in my grandfathers era there was to many job but no one was welling to do that but now we have limited.

In conclusion, soem categories choices has reduce but moe then that choices has created .So in my view chioces has definetly inceases and in modern era we have lot of options.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that choices have increased overall, while acknowledging that some areas, such as employment, may offer fewer options. The technology and clothing examples are relevant and help address the question. However, the two supporting points are not developed equally: the online-shopping paragraph explains convenience and access, while the clothing paragraph mainly asserts that variety has grown. The job-sector counterpoint is also unclear, particularly the claim that there were many jobs in your grandfather’s era but few people were willing to do them. Explain what has changed and why this limits choice, then connect each example more explicitly to your overall view. This would make your response more fully supported and precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate supporting paragraphs, a counterpoint and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “In contrary,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of your argument. Overall, the reader can follow your position. At times, however, the progression within paragraphs is less clear: the clothing paragraph moves from machines to a company example and then to demand without fully explaining the links. Some transitions also sound mechanical, and references such as “In this” do not clearly identify the idea being discussed. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, and make the relationship between examples and claims explicit. This will strengthen the flow without changing your overall organisation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “availability of technology,” “online ordering,” “varieties,” and “demand,” and you use examples from shopping and employment to discuss choice. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “comtemporary,” “prevealage,” and “welling.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “choices has reduce” and “comfortable manner.” Aim to use accurate, natural phrases rather than reaching for complex wording: for example, describe products as “available online” and say that “the range of clothing has expanded.” Careful proofreading of spelling and word forms would make your ideas clearer and more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, connected sentences, for example when explaining how technology enables people to order products from home. This gives the response some structural variety, and the main position is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction recur. Examples include “technology which have help,” “people has loss choice,” and “choices has reduce.” Some long sentences also lack clear grammatical connections between clauses, which makes the reasoning harder to follow. Practise matching subjects and verbs, and check tense and sentence boundaries when combining ideas. More accurate control of these patterns, alongside your attempts at complex sentences, would improve clarity.
