Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays we have many choices according to some people I completely agree with the statement because too many choices is the problem where people get confuse and forget their actual way.
It is widely accepted that,we are living in a world with flood of choices in every feild like in shopping, career, food, entertainment even with life partner choices. Its good for us to have choices sometimes and every person can join a specific department or feild according to his desire even according to his cup-of-tea. For instance, in my country a student who has recently completed his BBA he has a lot of choices and he is able to join as a marketer, consumer behavoiur analyst ,SMM expert and so on.
On the other hand, if choices made our life easy but create a lot of challanges for us in the same way. The maijor issue we are facing today due to a lot of choices in the market is inflation and its increases dramatically day by day. Its a global issue now . Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear overall view in the opening, saying, “I completely agree,” and you address both the benefits and drawbacks of having many choices. The examples of career options after a BBA and people replacing older possessions are relevant. However, the response only partially develops the argument: the link between consumer choice and inflation is asserted rather than explained, and the career example mainly illustrates a benefit without showing how too many options cause confusion. The conclusion is also cut off at “the whole soci…”, so it does not complete the final point. The response is 8 words below the required minimum. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and a complete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a concluding attempt. “On the other hand” signals a shift from benefits to drawbacks, and “To sum up” indicates a conclusion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from general examples to career choices without clearly connecting them to the central claim, while the second combines inflation, replacing possessions and emotional attachment. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, as in “if choices made our life easy but create…”. The final sentence is incomplete, which weakens the overall ending. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “career,” “entertainment,” “inflation,” “devalue,” and “financial investment.” These choices help communicate the subject, and phrases such as “consumer behaviour analyst” show an attempt at specificity. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “feild,” “challanges,” “emostional attactment,” and “societal demage.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “according to his cup-of-tea” and “choices force people to devalue the old things.” These sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Check spelling carefully and choose more precise collocations, for example, describing consumers as “replacing older products” rather than “devaluing” them.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a sentence beginning “For instance” and a contrast between the advantages and disadvantages of choice. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors recur in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries. For example, “too many choices is the problem” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “if choices made our life easy but create” does not form a complete, consistent clause. The opening also joins several ideas without clear punctuation, and the final sentence is unfinished. These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammar is secure.
