Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that modern life offers a wide range of choices, and the conclusion maintains this view. The response addresses the question with relevant examples from education, lifestyle, fashion and careers. The education paragraph is the most developed, explaining how students can choose fields that match their interests and abilities. The discussion of clothing and shopping is relevant but mainly lists options, while the career paragraph would benefit from a specific example showing how expanded opportunities affect an individual. To strengthen the response further, explain more fully whether having many choices is always beneficial or can sometimes create difficulty, since this would develop your argument beyond describing variety. Overall, the position and supporting ideas are clear, though some points are less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around different areas of choice, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. The examples generally appear in the relevant paragraphs, and the reader can understand how they support your position. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated references to “choices” and “various” rather than more varied connections between ideas. The first body paragraph also moves quickly from education to lifestyle, food and fashion, so the relationships among these examples could be signposted more clearly. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main point and transitions that show how each example develops it.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including terms such as “globalisation,” “interests and abilities,” “industrialization,” and “international job market.” These choices help you discuss several aspects of modern life, and the meaning is generally clear. You also attempt more formal expressions, but some are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “wide range of varieties,” “plenty of fashion,” and “buy a cloth.” Spelling errors, including “modernisarion,” “capablities,” and “employement,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and avoid repeating broad terms such as “various” and “choices.” For example, describe “a wide range of options” and “clothing styles,” then use specific vocabulary suited to each area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including relative clauses and participle phrases, as in “broadening the horizon and enabling students to select a major area of study.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the essay’s structure is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement and sentence construction. For example, “there is wide range” needs an article, while “the modernisation and rapid communication has enabled” has a plural subject that requires a plural verb. The sentence beginning “For instance, if we go to a shopping mall” also becomes awkwardly joined to its final clause. Review article use and subject–verb agreement, and check that long sentences have a clear grammatical structure. Greater consistency would improve accuracy while preserving your complex sentence attempts.
