Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's modern world, widespared inventions in science and technology totally changed the lifestyle and generate more choices for people. In late centuries, people lived simple life with limited resouces. In my opinion, now people have several choices and its increasing due to new inventions and also create competition between peoples.
There are sveral reasons which showed why people have several choices. A massive boom in technology sector enable multiple options like smartphones, internet and social media apps. In 19th century, telephone or postman is a only source of communication. Now things are totally changed. Everyone can connect with each other through the interent. Turning to transport sector, there are many resources available for travelling which is convenient and cost effective. For example, nowadays every Government striving to provide public transport with minimal charges and they ensure it would be environemnt friendly.
Regarding fashion, before ladies had very limited options for clothing and fashion. But now that industry remarkably growing and offering several things. For example, now ladies fashion is divided into several categories like western and eastern clothes, beauty cosmetics, parlour and clinics for beauty treatment. However, automobile sector continuously growing, everyday we heard about new car lauches with extensive features. Now mens have several option to chose featured car in low price. Before, very limited and expenisve options were available.
In conclusion, I agree with that now people's have alot of choices and its continuously increasing with time due to people's demand. A quote " More choices lead to dissatisfaction".

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that people now have more choices, and you give relevant examples from communication, transport, fashion and cars. These examples show an understanding of the topic, but the response only partly develops the task. Most paragraphs describe how options have increased rather than explaining whether having too many choices is beneficial or problematic. The final quotation, “More choices lead to dissatisfaction,” introduces a possible drawback, but you do not explain or connect it to your argument. To strengthen the response, state your precise view on whether the number of choices is excessive, then develop a few examples with reasons and consequences rather than listing sectors and options. This would make the argument more fully supported and focused on “too many.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs are generally organised by topic, and phrases such as “For example” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within the argument is limited: the body paragraphs move through several examples without consistently explaining how each supports the claim that choices are excessive. Some linking is mechanical, as in “Turning to transport sector,” and references such as “this industry” or “they” could be clearer. The conclusion repeats the main position but does not draw together the examples or address the dissatisfaction mentioned in the quotation. Build clearer links between each example and your central argument, and use transitions that show comparison, cause or contrast.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use topic-related vocabulary across several areas, including “communication,” “public transport,” “fashion,” and “extensive features,” so the reader can follow the general meaning. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “cost effective” and “environemnt friendly.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “widespared inventions,” “resouces,” “car lauches,” and “several option.” Some wording is repetitive, particularly “several choices” and “options,” and phrases such as “massive boom” are not always precise in context. Aim to check spelling carefully, learn common collocations, and vary repeated terms with accurate alternatives such as “alternatives” or “a wider range.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “transport with minimal charges and they ensure it would be environemnt friendly.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “inventions … totally changed the lifestyle and generate more choices” shifts verb tense, while “A massive boom … enable” has a subject–verb agreement error. Articles and plurals are also problematic in “a only source” and “mens have several option.” Some sentences join separate ideas without clear punctuation. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, consistent tense, and correct singular or plural forms; then use complex structures only when you can control them accurately.
