Student answer (Band 6.0)

As we are now living in fast-paced world with so many technological advancements so we have so many option to choose. I am firmly agree with people believe in this statement because modern advancements make our life so easier that we have so many alternatives whenever we have to pick one and the availability of everything surrounding us provide variety of option.

The increasing use of digital tools not only provides us various option but also makes us confused about the right choice. As we have direct access to internet so we can search anything in the internet which ultimately provides all the relevant examples to our search, as a result, we are exposed to many options rather than any specific ones that we are searched for. For example, online shopping is becoming so common in nowadays and we intend to shopping in online; we find so many alternatives of one product and also, we can choose the best online shopping as there are now variety of online grocery market.

The availability of facilities enables us to choose the best one as everything is now in our hand so we can choose anything at anytime we want. Due to modern advancements, the world is now globally connected, so it is easy for us to buy something from foreing country rather than our native shops as delivery of products all over the world is always available. For instance, we can choose electronic high speed trains for travelling in long distance within a short time period while in previous we had to depend on air solely for this.

In conclusion, there is no debate that advancement in technology makes our life so easier that we can now have the opportunity to choose best one among various alternatives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you firmly agree that modern life offers too many choices. You address the topic with relevant examples, especially online shopping and access to products from other countries, and the conclusion restates your view. However, some points are more fully explained than others. The online-shopping example shows how alternatives can create confusion, while the paragraph about global access mainly presents choice as beneficial and does not clearly explain whether this abundance is excessive. The train example is also difficult to connect to the central claim. To strengthen the response, explain more directly when having many options becomes a problem and develop each example to support that argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from digital access to wider availability, and linking expressions such as “For example,” “For instance” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The second body paragraph shifts from the benefits of choice to the train example without showing how it supports the claim that there are too many choices. Repeated use of “so” and “as” also makes some sentences feel loosely joined, and references such as “this” are not always precise. Use clearer topic sentences and explain the link between each example and your main position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “technological advancements,” “digital tools,” “alternatives” and “globally connected,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts to use more specific expressions, such as “online grocery market.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “so many option,” “variety of option” and “choose the best online shopping” do not sound natural. “Foreing” is misspelled, and “high speed trains” is not clearly expressed in the context of travel choices. Build a wider set of accurate collocations and check spelling, plurals and word forms. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish between having many options and being overwhelmed by them.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including the structure “not only … but also” and clauses beginning with “as” and “while.” This gives the response some variety, and the overall meaning is usually clear. However, some grammatical errors recur. For example, “I am firmly agree” should be “I firmly agree,” and “we intend to shopping” should be “we intend to shop.” There are also issues with articles, agreement and sentence construction, as in “in fast-paced world” and “the availability … provide.” Several long sentences join multiple ideas with “so” or “as,” making their structure difficult to control. Practise accurate verb patterns and agreement, and divide complex ideas into clearer sentences.
