Student answer (Band 5.5)

It's often argued that nowadays people have to a wide range of choises in life.People are having their own overview in this statement. In my openion i partly agree in this statement.

Firstly, Having many choises offers freedom in choosing things, increase satisfaction and helps to select better quality products.Nowadays people have many option to choose in different aspect of their life.which is benificial in some point letting them to freely select product they like or match with their lifestyle. In todays contex many compainies offers varities of goods and services, creating people many option to choose and discover better quality products.Which also helps peope to increase their satisfaction level. Not only that having option also helps syudents to choose their carrier path leading them to differnt field in thier eductional journey.

However it also have some drawbacks,an excessive number of choise create problems like financial probems, emotionally unstable, waste ot time and diffucult in decission making.when individuals are provided numerous alternative, they waste a lot of their time choosing or looking for better products leading then to constant stress pressure and hard time in making decission making not only that these activity brings finacial problem in individuals live.

overall,Having many choise offers freedom, satisfaction, carrer oppourtunityetc but it also creates difficulties such as stress pressure, hard time in dicission making, wastage of time so i partically agree in this statement because having different is benificail but in overwhelmig numbers can cause unnecessary problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is identifiable: you partly agree because choice brings benefits but too many options can create difficulties. You address both sides with relevant points, including product quality, educational paths, stress and decision-making. However, these ideas are mostly listed rather than explained or supported with a specific example, and the conclusion largely repeats the earlier points. The discussion therefore only partially develops the task. The response also falls 12 words short of the required minimum, so it needs a little more development as well as additional length. To strengthen it, explain one example in detail—for instance, how comparing many products can waste time or lead to a poor decision—and make your degree of agreement explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on drawbacks and a concluding summary. The contrast signalled by “Firstly” and “However” helps readers follow the main direction, and the conclusion returns to your position. This coherent structure meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger progression. However, links within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “Which also helps people to increase their satisfaction level” is a fragment whose connection to the previous sentence is not fully integrated, while the long sentence beginning “when individuals are provided numerous alternative” combines several consequences without clear separation. Use complete sentences, organise each paragraph around one main point, and connect explanations to that point more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “freedom,” “satisfaction,” “quality products,” “stress” and “decision making,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “career path” and “educational journey.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, including repeated misspellings of “choices,” “opinion,” “beneficial” and “decision.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “financial problems” as a consequence of having many choices without explaining the link, and “hard time in making decision making.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish the benefits of choice from the effects of excessive choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, such as the sentence explaining how numerous alternatives can lead to stress and difficulty deciding. However, the range of structures is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. Examples include “people have to a wide range,” “Having many choices offers freedom … increase satisfaction,” and “it also have some drawbacks”; these show problems with sentence construction, subject–verb agreement and verb forms. Sentence boundaries are also inconsistent: “Which also helps…” is not a complete sentence, and several ideas are joined into one long sentence without effective punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating a main claim from its explanation. Then add a few controlled complex sentences using “because,” “although” or “which.”
