Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, people have many choices in their daily lives. They can choose different types of food, clothes, jobes, and educational courses. I partly agree that having too many choices can make life difficult,But it also has many advantages.
On the one hand, too many choices can create confusion. People sometime find it difficult to decide what is best for them. For example, when student choose a university or a career, they may feel confused because there are many options available. Similarly, people can spend a lot of time choosing prouducts online. As a result, having too many choices can cause stress and waste time.
On the other hand, having diffrent choices gives people more freedom. They can select things according to their needs, interests, and budgets. For example, students can choose different courses to improve their skills and build a successful future. Moreover, people can compare different prouducts and select the best one at a reasonable price.
Therefore, having more choices can help people make better decisions.
In conculsion, i partly agree that nowdays we have too many choices because they can sometimes cause confusion. However , i belive tha having diffrent options is generally benefical because it gives people fredom and helps them find suitable opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear, relevant response to the question and state a consistent position: you “partly agree” that choices can cause confusion, while also recognising their benefits. Both sides are supported with examples, such as choosing a university or career and comparing products online. However, these points are brief and general; the discussion of how choices improve decisions, for instance, is asserted rather than explained with a specific outcome. The response also contains 203 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250. This limits the space available to develop your reasons and examples. To strengthen the response, explain one or two examples in more depth and make the extent of your agreement more explicit in the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the shift between disadvantages and advantages easy to follow, while “For example” introduces relevant support. The progression is generally clear, but some connections feel mechanical, and the final sentence largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. There are also spacing and punctuation issues that interrupt the flow, such as “difficult,But” and “confusion.However”. Use transitions selectively, connect examples more explicitly to the point they illustrate, and ensure each paragraph develops its central idea before moving on.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “options,” “budgets,” “career,” “skills,” and “reasonable price,” and the meaning is generally clear. However, the range is somewhat repetitive, with “choices” and “different” appearing several times, and some word choices are imprecise or misspelled. Examples include “jobes,” “prouducts,” “diffrent,” and “benefical”; these errors reduce the accuracy and polish of the writing. Phrases such as “make better decisions” and “successful future” are understandable but broad. Aim to use more precise expressions, such as describing choices as “overwhelming” or explaining that consumers can “compare alternatives,” and proofread carefully for spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use mostly straightforward sentence patterns and include some complex structures, such as “I partly agree that having too many choices can make life difficult” and “because there are many options available.” These help express contrast and reasons, and the main message remains understandable. However, the range is limited, and some errors in sentence construction and punctuation affect accuracy. For example, “when student choose” needs a plural subject and matching verb (“when students choose”), while “people sometime find” requires “sometimes.” Capitalisation and spacing are also inconsistent, as in “difficult,But” and “conclusion, i”. Practise varying sentence forms and check subject–verb agreement, adverbs, capital letters, and punctuation during revision.
