Student answer (Band 6.0)
In nowadays, people have many choices in almost in every part of their life, such as education, job, food and shopping. Some people believed that too much option can make their life difficult. I agree with this statement that many selection can cause confusion and time waste.
Firstly, having too much choices can make it difficult for people to make a better decision. When a person have many choices, they spend their alot of time to comparing them. As the result they might be confussed and feel stressed. For example, when a student have choose a university or degree they might be difficult to select a best option for himself.because there are many courses which can be offer by university. So at that point they can be worried about their future, at the end they can't find a good decision and they waste their alot of time.
Secondly, too many choices can lead to dissatisfaction. People sometimes think that another option might be better than the one they have selected. For instance, when shopping online customers can find hundreds of products with different prices and features. Even after buying something, they may puzzle that another product was a better choice. Therefore, having more options does not always make people happier.
However, I also believe that having some choices is important. It allows people to select things according to their needs, interests and budgets. For example, students can choose a subject that matches their abilities.
In conclusion, I agree that nowadays we have too many choices because they can cause confusion, stress and dissatisfaction. However, having different options is also useful.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that too many choices can create confusion, wasted time and dissatisfaction, while acknowledging that some choice is useful. The university-selection and online-shopping examples are relevant and help explain your main reasons. This addresses the task, but the ideas are not developed equally: the first example repeats the concern about difficulty and time without showing a specific consequence, while the point about choice matching students’ abilities is brief. To strengthen the response, explain how these effects arise and add a more concrete detail to each example. Your conclusion restates your view consistently, though it could synthesise the reasons rather than repeat them.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, body paragraphs present reasons, a concession recognises the value of choice, and the conclusion returns to your position. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “However,” and “In conclusion” make the structure easy to follow. Some cohesion is mechanical, however, and links within the first body paragraph are not always clear. For example, “So at that point” and “at the end” do not precisely show how the student’s worry leads to the stated outcome. Use a wider range of linking methods, including clear pronoun reference and cause-and-effect connections, and avoid repeating “choices” and “people” where a precise reference would work.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “confusion,” “dissatisfaction,” “features,” and “according to their needs, interests and budgets.” There are also attempts to express the topic in varied ways, such as “options” and “selection.” However, several word-choice, form and spelling errors make the language less natural: “many selection,” “time waste,” “confussed,” and “they may puzzle” are not appropriate forms or collocations in these contexts. Some repetition of “choices” and “option” also limits flexibility. Build accuracy by learning common phrases such as “make a decision,” “waste time,” and “feel confused,” and check spelling and plural forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “When a person have many choices…” and a concession beginning “However.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries remain. For example, “a person have” should use a singular verb, and “when a student have choose” has an incorrect verb construction. The sentence beginning “because there are many courses” is also attached unclearly to the preceding sentence, while “himself.because” needs punctuation and a space. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and past participle forms, then proofread sentence boundaries. More controlled complex sentences would improve accuracy and range.
