Student answer (Band 5.0)
Having several choices these days is something that have its benefits and its disavantage. People can do what they want, dress as they want and just be themself. While some people believe that people have too many choices can cause harm and has negative impacts, I strongly disagree with this notion because having choices has significant benefits to society.
To begin with, the main reason why i strongly agree with this view is that having choices that we can choose is a privilege. Choosing what to eat, buy, create is such an essential of free will that we can enjoy. For example, if im stressed about my problems, i tend to binge eating and dye my hair. From this, it helped the stressed out so i can enjoy the rest of the week smoothly and stress-free. Consequently, this can lead to positive outcomes in the long run.
Furthermore, another important point to consider is that i can vote and contributed to the presendential and secretary election. This allows me to do my responsibility as a citizen of Indonesia. President election is a serious matter of our future country, because this desicion can lead to drawbacks or positive results. As a citizen, it is an honor to vote and choosing our leader of the country. As a result, it becomes clear that this situation is highly advantages.
By the end, the free-will to your own body and choices that we make is beneficial for ourself or for the future of this coutry. I reaffirm my opinion that having options has significant impact to society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you disagree that people have too many choices, and you give two relevant areas—personal freedom and voting. These examples show an attempt to support your view, particularly the discussion of choosing leaders in Indonesia. However, the response only partly develops the question. The first example focuses on personal coping habits rather than explaining how having many choices benefits people more broadly, and the election paragraph does not directly address whether the number of choices today is excessive. The introduction also briefly presents the opposing view but does not explain or respond to it. Develop each reason with a clearer link to the question and explain why the benefits outweigh any disadvantages.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “To begin with” and “Furthermore,” and a concluding paragraph. This helps the reader identify the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the move from stress and hair dye to “positive outcomes in the long run” is not fully explained, and the election paragraph repeats the idea that voting is an honor without extending it. Some linking phrases feel mechanical or do not accurately signal the relationship between ideas, such as “As a result” before the broad claim that the situation is advantageous. Use clearer topic sentences, develop each point in a logical sequence, and make references such as “this” or “this situation” more specific.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “free will,” “citizen,” “election,” and “positive outcomes,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts less natural. For example, “an essential of free will” is not an idiomatic phrase, “highly advantages” uses the wrong form, and “presendential” and “desicion” are misspelled. Repetition of “choices,” “choose,” and “positive” also limits precision. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing autonomy, decision-making, and consequences, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a subordinate clause beginning “While some people believe…” and a conditional example beginning “if im stressed.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Examples include “something that have its benefits,” “people have too many choices can cause harm,” and “this desicion can lead,” where agreement or sentence structure needs correction. Verb forms are also inconsistent in “i can vote and contributed,” while “it helped the stressed out” lacks a clear grammatical subject and structure. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete clause construction, and consistent verb forms; also use capital letters and punctuation consistently.
