Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the contemporary world, wide range of opportunities are available in every field. It is widely acknowledged that people are having broader level of choices recently. I firmly agree with this statement primarily because of the number of career options available today and the technological advancements.
To begin with, career choices have significantly increased over the years as many universities are offering brand new courses to the students. Whereas, previous generations only had fewer career paths to choose such as medical profession, engineering or joining armed forces. Consequently, students often feel overwhelmed with choices they have and even feel anxious while selecting one. Moreover, succcesful career paths even provide the privilege of having multiple options in life such as choices in food, clothing as well. For example, people can study any course of their preference such as nanotechnology which is a growing branch of science. Therefore, students and graduates have multiple career options ,which can futher decide their standard of living.
Furthermore, technology has contributed significantly in the increasin choices we have recently. Development of internet and its acces to everyone has brought evolution in every single aspect of our life. To be more precise, people can learn anything through online and watch shows and movies in ott platforms. In addition, people have access to know about every shops and cafes available next to them by searching in google maps. For instance, online shopping provides wide range of options for customers to buy in flexible price range. Thus, advancement in technology brought revolutionary changes in people's lives and thus it paved way for opportunities in every field.
In conclusion, I firmly agree that people are having increased number of choices nowadays primarily because, career options have significantly grown over the years and technology has created various opportunities in many fields.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you firmly agree that people have more choices, and you give two relevant reasons—career opportunities and technology. The examples of studying nanotechnology, online entertainment, Google Maps and online shopping help illustrate these points. This fully addresses the task, but the support is uneven: the career paragraph moves from course choices to food and clothing and then living standards without explaining the links, while the technology paragraph lists conveniences more than it explains how they create an excessive number of choices. To strengthen the response, develop each main idea with a clearer explanation of its effect on people and connect the examples directly to the claim that there are now too many choices.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Moreover” introduces the link between career success and choices in food and clothing, but the relationship is not explained; “Consequently” also introduces a result that could be developed more clearly. The conclusion repeats much of the introduction rather than synthesising the argument. Use referencing and transitions to show precise cause-and-effect relationships, and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “career paths,” “technological advancements,” “overwhelmed,” and “revolutionary changes.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word-choice and collocation problems reduce precision, such as “broader level of choices,” “in the increasin choices,” and “flexible price range.” Spelling slips including “succcesful,” “futher,” and “acces” also detract from accuracy. Some phrases are vague or repetitive, particularly repeated references to “choices” and “options.” Aim for more natural combinations such as “a wider range of options” and “an expanding number of choices,” and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses in “because of the number of career options available today” and “as many universities are offering brand new courses.” Most sentences remain understandable, and the errors do not generally obstruct your meaning. Some grammatical and punctuation problems are evident, however. “In contemporary world” needs an article, and “Whereas, previous generations…” is an incorrectly punctuated fragment; it should be joined to the surrounding sentence or rewritten as a complete sentence. In “choices they have,” a relative pronoun would make the clause clearer, while the comma before “which” in “options ,which can futher decide” is misplaced. Work on articles, complete sentence structure, and punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
