Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this rapidly evolving era, people have access to an increasing number of choices in almost every aspect of life. Whie some people believe that government can provide a lot of choices such as educational, hospital, career opportunities and entertainment, other argue that more choices are available in just large city. In my opinion, I strongly agree that more options can provide a benefits and government can provide same facilities in local area. This essay shall explore the key reasons and example before arriving the logical and balanced conclusion.

To begin with, more choices give people freedom and better opportunities. However, many jobs opportunities can engorge people to select one employment according to the interest. Moreover, in educational institute can offers a huge range of courses and students can from different subjects, course and university. Furthermore, these facilities are available in just large city. So, many people prefer to work in a big city. As a result, the city population and traffic is increased nowadays. For example, many individual work in a large city and go for a job in peak time cause serious traffic jam. So, government can introduce the same facilities in small city because people can easily go in their job, education or any other purpose.

On the other hand, too many choices create confusion, stress and waste time. In addition, it can creation confusion before making any decision. Furthermore, individual can waste a quality time to compare all these options. It can encourage and pressure youngers to select a great option. Sometimes, people come to regret their decision later on. For instance, a person going a mobile shop and choose one phone our thousands of smart phones. As a result, comparing the phone with other phone require a time and create a confusion in mind which phone is better.

From the above discussion, it is clearly evident that the many choices have a lot of benefits in jobs, educations, health care and many more, while government can provide a range of facilities in small area. Too many facilities some time create a confusion, stress and waste time. I strangle agree, its advantages is outweigh its disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that choices bring benefits, while acknowledging that too many can cause confusion and stress. You address both sides and give relevant examples, including people moving to large cities for work and education, and a shopper comparing phones. However, the response does not consistently answer the central question about whether society now has too many choices: the discussion shifts at points to whether governments should provide facilities in smaller cities. The benefits of choice are also asserted more than explained, and the conclusion’s claim that advantages outweigh disadvantages is not fully supported by a direct comparison. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and connect it explicitly to your degree of agreement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting points, and a conclusion. The progression from benefits to drawbacks is generally easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the relevant ideas. However, linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “As a result” are used repeatedly and sometimes do not show a precise relationship between ideas. The first body paragraph also moves from job and education choices to city traffic and government provision without sufficiently explaining the connections. Some references, such as “these facilities,” are not fully clear. Use fewer, more precise transitions and organise each paragraph around one central claim, followed by explanation and a directly relevant example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “opportunities,” “confusion,” “stress,” “compare,” and “traffic jam,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “rapidly evolving era” and “from the above discussion.” However, inaccurate word choice, word forms, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “engorge people,” “youngers,” “strangle agree,” and “a quality time” are examples. Some expressions are also imprecise or repetitive, including “a lot of choices” and “many more.” Build accuracy by learning common collocations and checking whether a word has the intended meaning and grammatical form. More precise vocabulary would make your argument clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms occur across the response. For example, “other argue” lacks subject–verb agreement, “in educational institute can offers” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “individual can waste a quality time” has problems with articles and countability. The conclusion, “I strangle agree, its advantages is outweigh its disadvantages,” is difficult to interpret because of several errors in one sentence. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, plural forms, and verb patterns, and proofread complex sentences to ensure that each clause is complete and correctly connected.
