Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear position at the start—“I strongly agree”—and return to the idea that choices can bring confidence, independence, and experience. However, the response only minimally answers the specific question about whether people have too many choices: most of the essay argues that having many options is beneficial, without explaining whether the number of choices can become excessive or why. Several points, such as “we don't need to independent,” are unclear or conflict with your main position, and the examples remain general rather than showing a specific situation. The response is also 7 words below the required minimum. To develop the task more fully, explain both the benefits and possible drawbacks of abundant choice, then support your view with a clear, relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The essay has a basic structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” show an attempt to organise ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the two body paragraphs do not establish a clear contrast, and several points appear disconnected or contradictory. For example, “we don't need to be independent” does not clearly connect to the surrounding argument about choice. “However” is also used where the relationship between ideas is not clear. The conclusion repeats earlier claims rather than bringing the argument together. Use one paragraph for benefits and another for drawbacks, link each example directly to its main point, and use fewer, more accurate transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “opportunity,” “independent,” “numerous option,” and “experience,” so the reader can identify the general subject of your argument. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with frequent inaccurate word choices, collocations, and spelling that sometimes strain understanding. Examples include “a lots of choice,” “found in locality,” “limit choice,” and the misspellings “hleps” and “comfiwl.” Some phrases, such as “experience person,” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Build a more precise set of expressions for discussing choice, such as “a wide range of options,” “decision-making,” and “feel overwhelmed,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including conditional forms such as “if we have numerous option we can select…” and a concluding sentence that tries to connect several ideas. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors include subject–verb agreement (“if we wants,” “choices can makes”), verb forms (“we can decided,” “we can easily found”), missing or incorrect articles and plurals (“a lots of choice,” “numerous option”), and incomplete constructions such as “we don't need to independent.” These errors recur and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea at a time, then add subordinate clauses only when you can control their verb forms and agreement.
