Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear position—“I completely agree”—and begin to connect it to technology and the availability of options. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it does not explain what kinds of choices have increased, why having too many is a problem or benefit, or provide the relevant examples requested. The claim that technology provides “multiple answers to a problem” is repeated rather than developed, and the final sentence does not add a supporting reason. The response also falls 170 words short of the required minimum, leaving the argument substantially incomplete. To improve, develop two distinct reasons, explain each one, and support them with specific examples before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic sequence: an opening position is followed by a paragraph beginning “First and foremost,” which introduces technology as a reason. This gives the reader some sense of direction, and the main point remains broadly connected to the topic. However, the response is too brief to establish a clear overall progression or develop a complete argument. The second and third sentences of the opening overlap in meaning, while the final sentence largely repeats the idea of multiple options without showing how it follows from the preceding point. Use separate paragraphs for distinct reasons, and connect each claim to an explanation or example. A concluding paragraph would also help the response feel complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “decision making,” “availability,” and “technology,” and the reader can identify your general subject. However, several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, which limits clarity: “making the right opinions” does not convey the intended meaning, and “currently exists several options” is not an effective way to express the increase in choices. “Unending answers to an issue” is also an awkward collocation. The vocabulary is repeated around “options,” “answers,” and “choices,” with little range to explain different types or effects of choice. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “make informed decisions,” “a wide range of options,” and “solutions to a problem,” and use more specific vocabulary in developed examples.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes both simple statements and an attempt at a more complex sentence, particularly “I completely agree that there are more choices nowadays due to…”. However, grammatical control is uneven. In “A considerable number of people contend that currently exists several options,” the clause lacks a clear subject before “exists,” and the verb does not agree with the plural “options.” The phrase “the availability … is presence of technology” also has an incomplete grammatical construction, and “individuals are provided with several options to choose the best” is not fully formed. There is also an unnecessary space before the full stop in “life .” Practise complete clause structures, subject–verb agreement, and articles, then proofread punctuation.
