Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the bar chart, identifying the top countries and making comparisons. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you mention China and the US, the data points provided are sometimes inaccurate or confusingly phrased (e.g., 'almost totally used of that portion'). The summary of the remaining countries is quite brief and lacks a clear analytical focus on the relationship between production and consumption. To reach a higher band, ensure that data is reported accurately and that comparisons are more clearly linked to the trends observed in the chart.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'subsequently' used to introduce a new country comparison, which does not fit the context. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making the flow of ideas feel disjointed. While there is an overall progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive sentence structure hinder the logical flow of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and often inappropriate for an academic report. You frequently use 'voltage' or 'electric current' when referring to electricity production, which is technically inaccurate in this context. Phrases like 'on second number' and 'at last number' are non-standard. There is also a lack of variety in reporting verbs and nouns, relying heavily on basic terms. To improve, focus on using precise terminology related to data reporting and energy statistics, and avoid informal phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the china was have', 'Korea have lowest') and incorrect article usage. Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors that can cause confusion, such as 'almost totally used of that portion'. Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score significantly.
