Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response provides a summary of the main features, identifying the highest and lowest countries. However, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While the key data points are included, the analysis is somewhat mechanical, simply listing figures rather than synthesizing the information effectively. To improve, you should ensure you meet the word count requirement and focus on grouping countries by trends or significant differences rather than listing them sequentially, which makes the report feel like a data dump.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into two paragraphs, which is a logical structure for a short report. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat repetitive and mechanical, such as the frequent use of 'Subsequently' and 'After that'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the flow between the list of countries and their corresponding figures is disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that the transition between sentences is smoother would help elevate the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely heavily on basic verbs like 'ranked' and 'was'. There are also some inaccuracies in terminology, such as using 'kWt' instead of the standard 'kWh' or 'billion kWh'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'surpassed', 'outperformed', or 'a significant disparity'. Additionally, ensure that units of measurement are used correctly and consistently throughout the report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the sentences. For example, 'A country which the highest production... was China' is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'The country with the highest...'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and sentence structure, such as 'the country ranked first was China in the figure, follow by United States'. These errors are frequent, although they do not completely impede communication. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your complex sentences are formed correctly.
