Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the overall trend where production generally exceeds consumption, and you have highlighted the key exceptions like Germany. You have also made relevant comparisons between the top-producing countries. However, the report could be improved by grouping the data more effectively; for instance, the list of countries in the final paragraph is a bit mechanical. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points mentioned are accurate and that the overview provides a more cohesive summary of the relationship between the two variables across the entire dataset.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'Among the remaining countries', and 'Following then' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly repetitive or mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the flow between the third and fourth paragraphs could be smoother. Ensure that referencing is precise; for example, 'Following then' is not a standard cohesive phrase in this context. Overall, the information is easy to follow, but the use of linking words could be more varied and natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, using terms like 'production', 'consumption', 'exceeded', and 'utilized'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'measure in billion' (should be 'measured in') and 'at approximately' (should be 'at approximately'). While you attempt to use some specific terminology, the range is somewhat limited. To improve, try to incorporate more varied verbs and adverbs to describe the data trends, such as 'surpassed', 'accounted for', or 'marginal difference'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'out of nine countries produced the electricity were higher' (a redundant and incorrect structure) and 'consumption higher around 526.6 billion' (missing a verb). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are occasional errors in sentence construction that slightly hinder the flow. To achieve a higher score, focus on ensuring subject-verb agreement and avoiding unnecessary words that clutter your sentences. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also help.
