Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the chart, identifying the top and bottom countries. However, the analysis is quite superficial. While you mention specific figures for China and the US, the report lacks a clear overview of the general trends or a more sophisticated comparison between the countries. The grouping of countries is somewhat arbitrary, and the description of the data is repetitive. To improve, you should group the data more logically (e.g., high producers vs. low producers) and provide a more analytical summary of the differences between production and consumption across the ten nations rather than listing them individually.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical. The use of cohesive devices is limited and occasionally repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'and' to connect clauses. The referencing is sometimes unclear, for example, 'Every country have its own difference rate' is a vague statement that does not effectively link the data points. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a logical flow, making the transition between the data points feel disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words would help the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use the same phrases, such as 'production and consumption of electricity' and 'amount of'. There is little evidence of less common vocabulary or precise collocations. For instance, instead of 'high amount of production', you could use 'higher output' or 'greater generation'. Spelling errors like 'qnd' and 'korean' (referring to South Korea) detract from the overall quality. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more varied terminology related to data description and energy statistics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the response, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Every country have', 'Japan and India has') and pluralisation. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and incorrect capitalisation (e.g., 'china', 'france'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. Focusing on consistent verb agreement and using a wider variety of sentence structures would significantly improve your accuracy.
