Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, including the top and bottom countries. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, the claim that China had the highest production because it had the 'highest population' is an external assumption not supported by the provided chart. Furthermore, the grouping of countries into 'midrange' and 'last three' is a bit imprecise, as the data points are specific. To reach a higher band, you should focus more on comparing the relationship between production and consumption across all countries rather than listing them individually, and ensure your analysis remains strictly within the provided data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression from the overview to specific details. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'At the end' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced. For example, 'Overview, China featured...' is grammatically awkward and lacks a proper cohesive link to the rest of the sentence. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'When we talk about the last three countries in which...', which disrupts the flow of the sentence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to describe the data points clearly. You use terms like 'generation', 'consumption', and 'billion kWh' correctly. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'featured on the first place' (should be 'ranked first') and 'the least energy generation was of Korea' (should be 'Korea had the lowest energy generation'). The range is somewhat limited, relying on repetitive structures to describe the figures. Expanding your range of reporting verbs and comparative adjectives would improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder clarity. Examples include 'China was having the highest population due to that the production...' and 'the usage of it was 3,866 billion kWh'. The use of articles and prepositions is inconsistent, and some sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and sentence construction will be beneficial.
