The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

today i am going to talk about the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

first of all as you may all know China is the most populated country worldwide and if you think about it it is going to take the first place at production and consumption of electricity. in 2014 its production of electricity reached 5398 billion kWh and consumption reached 5322 billion kWh.

therefore the united states take the second place with having 4099 billion kWh in production and 3866 billion kWh in consumption of electricity. it may be shocking (for me it is) that the united states did not take the first place. as we all know Chinese people and Asians generally are the most economical people to exist on the other hand Americans do not care how much the electricity bill is going to be.
