Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. Furthermore, the response is incomplete, ending abruptly in the middle of a sentence. While the student attempts to identify the main features, such as China's leading position, the lack of a full summary and the failure to complete the analysis of consumption data mean that the task is only partially addressed. To improve, ensure all data points are fully described and the response reaches the required length by providing a comprehensive overview and detailed comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt at an introduction and body paragraphs, the progression of ideas is hindered by the abrupt ending. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and sometimes inaccurate manner, such as 'following this' and 'whereas'. The paragraphing is present but the content within the paragraphs is disjointed and lacks the necessary flow to guide the reader effectively. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring a logical, complete structure is essential for a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and form, such as 'how many electricity generate and use' instead of 'how much electricity was generated and consumed'. The student struggles with basic terminology related to data reporting, using 'highest digit' instead of 'highest figure' or 'amount'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to statistics, such as 'accounted for', 'consumed', and 'produced', and ensure correct word forms are used consistently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are significant issues with verb tense and voice, such as 'china was only country which produced and Consumed' and 'other country ware showed'. Sentence structures are mostly simple and often contain errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage. The lack of control over basic sentence construction makes the writing difficult to follow. To improve, focus on mastering the passive voice for describing data and ensure consistent use of articles and pluralization.
