Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the top ten countries for both production and consumption. You have successfully highlighted the main features, such as China's leading position in both categories. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical, relying heavily on listing figures rather than synthesizing the data. For instance, while you mention the rankings, you could improve by grouping countries with similar trends or highlighting the significant gap between China and the rest of the list. The comparison between production and consumption is present, but it could be more analytical to better meet the requirements for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on consumption and production respectively. The use of cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand' and 'Similarly' helps the flow of information. However, some transitions feel slightly repetitive or mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, but the paragraphing could be improved by ensuring that comparisons between the two categories are more integrated rather than treating them as two separate lists. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information, such as 'illustrates', 'recording', and 'accounting for'. However, the range is somewhat limited and repetitive, particularly in the way you introduce the data points. There are also some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'Closer to her was the Germany', where 'her' is an inappropriate pronoun for a country, and the phrasing 'As per the rank of consumption rate' is slightly unnatural. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for 'recorded' or 'accounted for' and improve the precision of your descriptive language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'the Germany' (the definite article is unnecessary here) and 'each recording 3866, 1038... respectively' (the list structure is slightly awkward). Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as missing commas in lists (e.g., 'Japan India, Canada'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will help improve your accuracy.
