Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response effectively addresses all parts of the task. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the dominance of China and the United States, and made relevant comparisons, including the observation that Germany is the only country where consumption exceeds production. The data is accurately reported and well-selected to support the summary. The overview is clear and provides a good snapshot of the data trends. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are fully integrated; for instance, you could explicitly contrast the production-to-consumption ratios of the top two countries with the smaller nations to add more analytical depth.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs that group the countries effectively. Cohesive devices such as 'Looking first at', 'Turning to', and 'respectively' are used appropriately to guide the reader. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately. The progression of ideas is smooth, moving from the highest-ranking countries to the remaining ones. The use of referencing is clear, and the overall structure supports the information well. There is no evidence of mechanical or faulty cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information with precision. Phrases like 'leading countries', 'considerably lower figures', and 'exceeded production' are used accurately. There is a good attempt at using topic-specific terminology. While the vocabulary is functional and accurate, it lacks some of the more sophisticated or 'less common' lexical items that would elevate the response to a higher band. However, the word choice is consistently appropriate for the task, and there are no errors that impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. Most sentences are error-free, and the control of grammar is generally strong. There are a few minor slips, such as 'higher then' (should be 'higher than') and 'Unites States' (should be 'United States'). Additionally, there are some minor punctuation issues, such as missing spaces after commas (e.g., 'Overall,it'). Despite these occasional errors, the majority of the sentences are accurate, and the grammatical control is sufficient to ensure clear communication throughout the report.
