Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, identifying the top producers and consumers and highlighting the exception of Germany. However, the analysis is somewhat limited. While you mention China and the USA, you do not provide enough detail regarding the remaining eight countries to fully satisfy the 'summarise' requirement. The data presentation is accurate, but the report lacks a more comprehensive overview of the trends across the ten countries. To reach a higher band, ensure you group the data more effectively and provide a more thorough comparison of the figures rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organised into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The progression of ideas is clear, moving from the general overview to specific details. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Overall,' 'In terms of,' and 'as compared to,' though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is appropriate, and the information is presented in a way that is easy to follow. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more fluid to avoid a repetitive structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'utilization,' 'productivity,' and 'deficit' correctly. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'China and United States stands at the highest' (should be 'stand') and 'produces a highest amount' (should be 'the highest'). The vocabulary is functional but lacks the sophistication or precision required for higher bands. Focusing on more precise collocations and avoiding basic errors in word form will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('China and United States stands,' 'These all countries produces') and missing articles ('in the year of 2014' should be 'in 2014'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing your control over basic grammatical rules and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your accuracy.
