Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the chart, such as identifying the highest and lowest producers. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you mention specific figures, the comparison between countries is limited, and the grouping of countries (e.g., France, Brazil, and Germany) is slightly inaccurate based on the provided data. To reach a higher band, you should focus on grouping data more logically and highlighting significant trends or contrasts rather than listing figures for each country individually. The overview is present but could be more analytical by focusing on the gap between production and consumption across the top ten.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and repetitive (e.g., starting multiple sentences with 'The'). There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas between sentences and paragraphs. For example, using transition signals like 'In contrast,' 'Furthermore,' or 'Conversely' would improve the flow. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'The Russia and Japan is on approximately on similar level,' which lacks smooth integration into the paragraph structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use 'production' and 'consumption' alongside 'rate' and 'level,' which is acceptable but lacks variety. There are also some awkward phrasing choices, such as 'on the small point' and 'on six number,' which are not natural English collocations. To improve, try to incorporate more varied verbs and nouns to describe data, such as 'surpass,' 'account for,' 'figure,' or 'proportion,' and ensure that your word choices are precise rather than relying on simple descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'The China' vs 'China'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'The Russia and Japan is'), and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
