Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 94 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you have identified some main features, such as China's dominance and the comparison between production and consumption, the lack of length prevents a full overview or a comprehensive selection of data from the ten countries provided. To improve, you must expand your analysis to include more data points and provide a more detailed comparison across the provided categories to ensure the task is fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is logically organized with an introduction, an overview, and a body paragraph. However, the progression is limited due to the brevity of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'while' and 'as for', but the overall structure feels underdeveloped. To achieve a higher band, ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that you use a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly between sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally appropriate for the task, using terms like 'dominated', 'surpassed', and 'generated'. However, the range is limited, and there are some awkward phrasings, such as 'in ranking' and 'placing at the first'. To improve, aim to use more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'exceeded', 'accounted for', or 'figures indicate'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'China, has generated' (unnecessary comma) and 'placing at the first in ranking' (awkward phrasing). While these errors do not impede communication, the limited length restricts the demonstration of a wider range of complex grammatical structures. Focus on improving sentence variety and ensuring subject-verb agreement and punctuation are consistently accurate.
