The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given bar graph compares the production and utilization of electricity in billion kWh involving top ten countries during the year 2014.

Overall, the production of power is more dominant than the consumption in all nations except in Germany. The first two countries (China and the USA) recorded the highest figures both in terms of production and use while the least one is Korea.

In terms of highest figures, China is the top most country with above 5000 billion kWh power being used and produced, this is followed by the US with 4099 billion kWh of electricity being produced and used about 3866 billion kWh. Russia being the third country with above 1000 billion kWh power. Japan and India, residing in third and fourth places.

On the other hand, the Korea Republic figures are least above all with below 500 billions kWh power. Whereas, Germany is the only nation to use the highest electricity exceeding its production. France and Brazil recorded above 500 billion kWh power both in production and utilization.
