The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart compares the production and consumption of electricity in the top ten countries in 2014, measured in billion kWh.

Overall, China was the leading country in terms of production and consumption of electricity, whereas the United States was the second leading country in generating and using electricity. In contrast, Korea, Rep. represented the lowest figures of producing and consumption of electricity.

An analysis of the chart reveals that China recorded the highest figures, producing 5,398 billion kWh, while it consumed 5,322 billion kWh. Similarly, the United States ranked second, generating 4,099 billion kWh, and it consumed 3,866 billion kWh. Russia ranked third, with production and consumption figures of 1,057 billion kWh and 1,038 billion kWh, respectively. Moreover, India and Japan also recorded relatively high figures, with Japan and India produced 936.2 and 871 billion kWh, respectively, while they consumed 856.7 and 698.8 billion kWh, respectively.

Furthermore, the figure for Canada produced and consumed 618.9 and 499.9 billion kWh, respectively. France, Brazil and Germany generated 561.2, 53.7 and 526.6 billion kWh, respectively, while they consumed 462.9, 455.8 and 582.5 billion kWh, respectively.
