Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the data, such as identifying China as the leader in both production and consumption. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you mention several countries, the comparisons are limited, and the data presentation is often repetitive. For example, stating 'both are around same' for China is vague. To reach a higher band, you should group the data more effectively—perhaps by comparing the top three countries against the rest—and provide more precise comparative language rather than simply listing figures for each country individually. The overview is present but lacks a clear synthesis of the trends shown in the chart.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'As well as, at Russia' and 'To start with, the China' are grammatically awkward and do not function well as logical connectors. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is somewhat disjointed, as the transition between countries feels like a list rather than a cohesive analysis. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'in contrast', 'similarly', 'whereas') would significantly improve the flow and logical progression of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'number', 'production', and 'consumption'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'manufacture' instead of 'generation' for electricity, and 'ratio' used incorrectly to describe raw figures. Additionally, phrases like 'the huge number of electricity' are unnatural; electricity is an uncountable noun and should be described in terms of 'output' or 'volume'. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations related to data reporting and avoid repeating the same nouns and verbs throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are persistent issues with articles (e.g., 'the China', 'the less number'), subject-verb agreement ('The ratio were'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or fragmented, lacking the complexity required for higher bands. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas used throughout the text (e.g., 'consumption, at China'). To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and using articles correctly before country names and nouns.
