Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to summarize the data but fails to provide a clear overview or accurately report the main features. While it identifies China and the USA as major players, the description of the remaining countries is confusing and often inaccurate (e.g., stating Russia consumes 'little bite' or Japan consumes 'small engery'). The comparison between production and consumption is poorly handled, making it difficult for the reader to grasp the actual trends presented in the chart. The response lacks a logical structure to present the data effectively, and the conclusion is repetitive rather than summarizing the key findings.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks logical progression. Paragraphing is absent, and the sentences are strung together without clear transitions. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often misused, such as 'and secondly rise production' or 'Last the least'. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to follow which country is being discussed. The overall arrangement of information is chaotic, and the lack of clear topic sentences or logical grouping of data points significantly hinders the flow of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There are numerous spelling errors (e.g., 'engery' for energy, 'Japna' for Japan, 'consum' for consume) and incorrect word choices that impede communication. The student relies on basic, informal phrasing like 'little bite' and 'tiny engery', which are inappropriate for an academic report. There is no attempt to use a range of vocabulary to describe trends or comparisons, and the persistent errors in basic terminology make the text difficult to read.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often distort meaning. Sentence structures are simplistic and often incomplete or run-on. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and word order (e.g., 'the chain world numbers one production'). Punctuation is also problematic, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. While some simple sentences are understandable, the high frequency of errors throughout the text means that the reader must constantly struggle to interpret the intended message, which is characteristic of a lower band score.
