Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the chart, such as the leading positions of China and the United States. However, the response lacks a clear, analytical overview. While you mention the top countries, the comparison between production and consumption is somewhat mechanical. You have included specific data points, which is good, but the grouping of countries is slightly disorganized. To improve, ensure you group data logically (e.g., comparing the top three against the rest) rather than listing them sequentially, and provide a more cohesive summary of the trends observed across the ten countries.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes repetitive or slightly unnatural, such as 'After analyzing the point' or 'After rank in any country'. The transition between sentences could be smoother; for instance, the jump from Japan to India is abrupt. While the logical progression is generally clear, the mechanical nature of the linking words prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices to link ideas rather than just listing data would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the necessary information about electricity production and consumption. You use terms like 'illustrates', 'consumption', and 'production' correctly. However, there is a lack of variety in your phrasing, and some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'the electricity of production was the majority' or 'others are very lower'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'surpassed', 'accounted for', or 'a significant margin'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'the United states was the second highest' (missing article), 'the Russia was the third' (incorrect article usage), and 'the Japan were the 936.2 production' (subject-verb agreement and preposition issues). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the data, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles with country names will significantly improve your accuracy.
