Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the chart, such as identifying China and the US as the leaders in both production and consumption. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you mention that Germany consumes more than it produces, you miss the opportunity to provide a more detailed comparison of the other countries. The data presentation is a bit cluttered, and the grouping of countries (e.g., 'Russia and Korea. Rep.') lacks precision. To reach a higher band, ensure you select the most significant data points and provide a more analytical comparison rather than just listing figures. The overview is present but could be more clearly integrated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward, such as 'While rest of the countries faced almost similar level of usage rates'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal flow within paragraphs needs more sophisticated linking words to connect the comparisons effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'rates', 'levels', and 'shown'. Phrases like 'shown about equal number of rates' are imprecise and unnatural. To improve, you should incorporate more specific terminology related to data analysis, such as 'surpassed', 'outstripped', 'marginal difference', or 'proportionate'. There are also minor issues with word choice, such as using 'metrics' where 'data' or 'figures' would be more appropriate in this context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are several grammatical errors that distract the reader. Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent, for example, 'almost all of the countries has' should be 'have', and 'China and US rates can be seen' is clunky. Additionally, 'Korea. Rep.' is an incorrect way to write the country name. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often marred by errors in punctuation and phrasing. Focusing on basic accuracy and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound will help improve your score significantly.
