Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully address the task. While you have identified some data points, the report lacks an overview or summary of the main trends. You have simply listed data for the first few countries without grouping them or identifying the most significant features, such as the clear dominance of China and the United States. To improve, you must provide a clear summary of the overall trends and ensure you reach the required length by comparing the data more effectively rather than just listing figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks a logical structure. It is presented as a series of disconnected sentences rather than a cohesive report. There is no paragraphing, and the use of cohesive devices is very limited. Phrases like 'Moving forward to' are used, but they do not effectively connect the ideas in a way that guides the reader through the data. To improve, you should organize your report into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and body paragraphs that group the countries logically (e.g., top producers vs. others).

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is repetitive and basic. You rely heavily on the words 'production' and 'consumption' throughout the text. There is no attempt to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe the data, such as 'generated', 'utilized', 'surpassed', or 'accounted for'. The lack of variety makes the report monotonous. To improve, try to incorporate synonyms and more precise verbs to describe the relationship between the figures, which will help demonstrate a higher level of lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentence structures. There are frequent errors in punctuation, such as missing spaces after commas and inconsistent capitalization (e.g., 'china', 'united states', 'russia'). Additionally, the sentence structure is repetitive, relying almost exclusively on 'the production is X whereas the consumption is Y'. To improve, you should practice using complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions, and pay closer attention to basic punctuation rules and proper noun capitalization.
