Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified the main features, such as China's leading position and the general comparison between production and consumption, the analysis is underdeveloped. The report lacks a clear, comprehensive summary of the data provided in the chart. Several countries are grouped together without sufficient detail, and the description of the figures is often imprecise or confusing. To improve, ensure you provide a more thorough overview and detailed comparisons of the data points, ensuring you meet the minimum length requirement to fully develop your response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'To begin with', and 'Furthermore', their usage is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition to the final paragraph is abrupt, and the grouping of countries is not clearly explained. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'Korea.rep was only nations', which lacks proper grammatical structure and clarity. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus that contributes to the overall summary of the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'produced', 'consumed', and 'highest'. There are also several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'comsumption', 'Kporea', and 'Korea.rep'. The phrasing 'witnessed maximum number of electricity produced' is unnatural and imprecise. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use a more varied vocabulary, including synonyms and collocations related to data reporting (e.g., 'surpassed', 'accounted for', 'figures', 'statistics'). Additionally, ensure you proofread your work to correct spelling errors and improve the overall precision of your language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with article usage ('the China', 'the US', 'the Russia'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. For instance, 'who were produced and consumed' is grammatically incorrect as it should be passive voice ('which produced and consumed'). The sentence 'the Russia and japan had almost similar ratio were up to...' is fragmented and lacks proper structure. While there is an attempt at complex sentences, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before country names.
