Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you have identified the main features and made some comparisons, the analysis is somewhat superficial. You have selected key data points, such as China's leading position and the comparison between production and consumption, but the lack of sufficient length means the task is not fully addressed. To improve, ensure you provide a more comprehensive overview and include more detailed comparisons across the data set to reach the required length and depth of analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward, such as 'A glance is adequate enough to analyze' and 'Turning to rest of details'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases more naturally to connect your ideas and data points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'amount of electricity', 'used', and 'produced'. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'expend more electric power' instead of 'consume' or 'use'. To improve, try to incorporate more specific terminology related to energy production and consumption, and ensure you use words in their correct context to demonstrate a more sophisticated range of vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('india which generate', 'people expend more... than generated') and punctuation errors. Additionally, there are awkward phrasings like 'almost same quantity' (missing 'the') and 'it’s production' (incorrect use of apostrophe). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your accuracy.
