Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a clear or accurate summary of the data. While it mentions some countries and figures, the interpretation of the data is frequently incorrect (e.g., misidentifying the highest producers and consumers). The overview is disjointed and lacks a clear comparison of the main features. The information provided is often confusing, such as the claim that Germany had the 'extremely lowest production' when the chart shows different data. The response lacks a logical selection of key features, resulting in a failure to adequately cover the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a logical structure. Paragraphs are not used effectively to group ideas, and the progression of information is disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the awkward transition 'Overview this bar chart' and 'On the other hand, analyze the concept'. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between countries. The overall arrangement of information is mechanical and lacks the necessary flow to guide the reader through the data presented in the chart.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and often inappropriate for an academic report. There is a frequent misuse of words, such as 'utilizing' instead of 'consumption', 'vulnerable' instead of 'ranking', and 'weakness cultivation' which is nonsensical in this context. The student relies on basic, repetitive phrasing and struggles to use technical terms accurately. Many of the word choices impede the clarity of the report, and there is no evidence of an attempt to use less common or precise vocabulary to describe trends or data points.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often obscure the intended meaning. There are significant issues with sentence structure, such as 'The maximum the create the electricity is United State' and 'In the China, the highest electricity use and production in 2014 is 5.398'. Subject-verb agreement, article usage, and prepositional errors are pervasive throughout the text. The student relies almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and even these are often poorly constructed. The lack of control over basic grammar makes the text difficult to read and understand.
