IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

This bar chart illustrates top ten countries for production and consumption of electricity . In this bar we charts clearly shows that currently two superpowers are leading in production of electricity China being the top producer is producing almost 5398 kWh while consuming only 5322 kWh. If we talk about USA being the second in production of electricity is producing almost 4099 kWh and consuming just 3866 kWh are way ahead of other 8 countries.

Now if we talk about third biggest producer of electricity Russia is producing 1057 while consuming 1038 , Japan is producing 936.2 and consuming 856.7, India is producing 871 and consuming only 698.8.

All the countries in this pie chart are at break even or surplus except Germany. They are consuming more than they are producing and this must be point of worry for them.

In conclusion i will like to say that this was very informative pie chart which showed proper consumption and production stats
