Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response effectively identifies the main features of the data, such as the dominance of China and the United States and the ranking of the Republic of Korea. You have successfully selected and reported key comparisons, such as the observation that Germany consumed more than it produced. However, the report could be improved by grouping the data more logically rather than listing countries sequentially. While you mention the top and bottom countries, a more analytical approach to grouping the middle-tier countries would enhance the clarity of the overview. Overall, the task is well-addressed with accurate data representation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Next', 'In addition to that', and 'Lastly' to guide the reader through the data. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the highest producers to the lowest. To reach a higher band, ensure that the flow between sentences is more varied and less reliant on simple sequential markers.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportions', 'generated', 'consumed', and 'exceeded'. There are some minor inaccuracies, such as 'top most country' (which is redundant) and 'created and generated' (which is repetitive). While you successfully use numerical data to support your points, the vocabulary remains somewhat functional rather than sophisticated. Incorporating more precise collocations or varied synonyms for 'produced' and 'consumed' would help elevate the lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. You show good control over basic grammar, but there are several recurring errors. For example, 'The given bar chart illustrate' should be 'illustrates' (subject-verb agreement), and 'United States shows' should be 'the United States show'. Additionally, there are minor punctuation and phrasing issues, such as 'in comparision to the rest of the countires'. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and pluralization.
