The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart compares the electricity production and consumption in the top ten countries in 2014.

Overall, China recorded as the largest producer and consumer of electricity, followed by the USA, while Korea was the lowest producer and consumer of electricity. All countries produced electricity more than their consumption except Germany, where electricity consumption exceeded the production.

In 2014, China was by far the largest producer of electricity, with generating 5,398 billion kWh, followed by the USA which produced the 4,099 billion kWh. Russia ranked third at 1,057 billion kWh. The figure then dropped steadily, from 936.2 billion kWh in Japan to 871 billion kWh in India, 618.9 billion kWh in Canada, 561.2 billion kWh in France, 530.7 billion kWh in Brazil, 526.6 billion kWh in Germany and 485.1 billion kWh in Korea.

The consumption of electricity followed the similar overall pattern. China consumed 5,322 billion kWh electricity, followed by the USA with 3,866 billion kWh. Russia, Japan, India, Canada, France, Brazil, Germany and Korea consumed 1,038, 856.7, 698.8, 499.9, 462.9, 455.8, 582.5 and 449.5 billion kWh. Among all countries, Germany was the only country where consumption of electricity exceeded than its production.
