The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The bar chart showing the electricity production and consumption for top ten countries in 2014 represents that the China had greatest production of electricity of 5398kWh while the consumption was 5322kWh while Korea Republic had the lowest production and consumption of electricity of 485.1kWh and 449.5kWh. It also shows that after the China United States was second largest producer and consumer of electricity of 4099kWh produced and 3866kWh consumed. Russia was third on the bar chart for the electricity production and consumption of 1057kWh produced and 1038kWh consumed, Japan was at fourth place with production of 936.2kWh produced and 856.7kwh consumed, India was placed fifth with 871kWh of electricity produced and 698.8kWh consumed, Canada placed sixth produced 618kWH and consumed 499.9kWh. Lastly France, Brazil and Germany with seventh, eight and nine placed produced and consumed between 600kWh to 400kWh .
