IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The bar chart chart gives us information about the consumption and production of electricity. In 2014, there are 10 countries who consume and produce more electricity then other countries on the Globe.

The bar chart ranks the countries from 1 to 10. There are many countries in the bar chart such as China, Russia and several other countries. The chart gives us data of consumption and production in billion kWh. The grey line represents the production of electricity while other line represents the consumption of electricity in these countries.

In 2014, China produce electricity about 5398 billion kWh but consume about 5322 kWh and that's the highest number of the chart. However, korea production is 485.1 billion kWh but the consumption is about 449.5 bilion kWh that's similar to few other countries such as Brazil, France and Germany. The USA consumption is 3866. On the other hand, the production is 4099. Japan and Russia consumption and production are similar to each other.

Moreover, the the consumption of all the countries are similar to production taht mean's the electricity usage of these countries are according to their production.
