The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The chart illustrates the data of the electricity production and consumption for the top ten countries in 2014.
Overall, the larger proportion of the chart is covered by China and United States as their production rate as well as consumption rates are extremely high as compare with the other contries mentioned. Apart from that, data is slightly varies for other countries with not much variation.
The two countires which have a huge amount of the electricity production are China and United States where China surpasses United States with a production rate of 5398 billion kWh while United States has 4099 billion kWh which is a bit low when compared with China. Same trend follows for consumption rate as well.
While for other countries electricity production and consumption rate is lower than that of China and United States. Furthermore, there is no much variation in their rate. However, for Germany their consumption rate is a bit higher than their production rate which are 582.5 billion kWh and 526.6 billion kWh respectively.
