The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The accompanying bar chart depicts the countries who have higher ranked in yielding and utilization of electricity in 2014.

Overall, China had the most significant improvement in consumption and utilization of electricity, while the USA remained in second place. While Russia stayed constant to both elements.

To commence with, China stood first at 5398 billion kWh production and illustrated 5322 billion kWh utilization in 2014. Secondly, the USA has a lower yielding rate which was solely 4099 billion kWh and utilization rate merely 3866 billion kWh. Moreover, Russia and Japan had 1057 billion and 9362 billion kWh production rates with lower utilization rates amounted to 1038 and 856 billion kWh.

In addition, India witnessed 5th number with 871 production and 698 billion kWh consumption rates. In fact, Canada and France accounted for 618 and 561 billion kWH yield in 2014 with lower ratios of utilization which were only 499 and 462 billion kWh. Indeed, Germany had only country with less production than utilization. Meanwhile, Brazil and Korea had 530 and 485 production rates with 455 and 449 billion kWh utilization.
