The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar chart illustrates the comparisions in production and consumption of electricity by top 10 countries.

China securing the 1st position among different countries in means of production and consumption of electricity both followed by United States and Russia in 2nd and 3rd numbers respectively. The bar chart illustrates the huge difference among other countries as compared to top 2 countries.

The highest generation of electricty numerically is 5,398 which is measured in billion kWh is done by China, comparing with the 2nd secured postion country which is United States produces the electricty about 4,099 billion kWh. The minute difference between both countries. Reflecting on the values of consumption of electricity by top two countries, 5322 billion kWh by China and 3,866 billion kWh by United States. An observable difference between the consumption values. The other countries in top 10 queue are Russia, Japan, India, Canada, France, Brazil, Germany, Korea Rep. Among them only Russia hit the 1000 billion kWh production and consumption of electricity while the others lie under 1000 billion Kwh with Korean Republic at the last rank with 485.1 billion kWh in production and 449.5 billion kWh in consumption of electricity.
