The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The bar graph compares the production and consumption of electricity by the top ten countries in 2014.
to begin with, it is clearly evident that china consumed 5,322 billion kWh out of total 5,398 billion kWh produced electricity. the data was slightly less in the USA with 4,099 billion kWh produced and consumption of only 3,866 billion kWh. Russia consumed almost equal units of electricity that was generated (1,057 billion kWh).Japan and India produced 936.2 and 871 billion kWh respectively. the figure for canada, france and brazil were quite lower. however, In germany 582.5 billion kwh electricity was consumed which is nearly 60 units more than production (582.5 billion kwh). korea, on the other hand produced and consumed 485.1 and 449.5 billion kWh electricity.
To conclude, China and USA produced and consumed highest units of electricity. Whereas,germany was the only country in which the figure for elecricity consumption was higher than it's production.
