The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given bar chart demonstrates the the data of top ten most electricity production and consumption countries, in the year 2014.

It is clearly seen that top two countries, naming China and USA are far ahead in numbers regarding both production and consumption. Rest of all countries don't have much of a difference in their data.

In terms of production, China leads with a value of 5,398kWh, followed by United States at 4,099kWh. Rest of eight countries have their value between 1,057 and 485.1kWh, in order of Russia, Japan, India, canada, France, Brazil, Germany and Korea.

For consumption of electricity, China is still at top with comsumption of its almost 99% production, USA consumes about 3,866kWh. Russia and Korea also consume about 99% of their production at 1,038kWh and 449.5kWh respectively. Germany is the only country in the list whose consumption data outnumbers its production by 55.9kWh. Rest of the countries including Japan, India, Canada and Brazil have their consumption all above 90% of their production.
