The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates the top ten nations for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Overall, China contributed the largest proportion in production and consumption of electricity, where United States stood at second position. Korea Rep. recorded as the lowest contributor.

China was by far the largest producer and consumer of electricity, generating 5398 billion kWh and consuming 5322 billion kWh. The United States ranked second with production of 4099 billion kWh and consumption of 3866 billion kwh. In comprasion, Russia produced 1057 billion kWh and consumed 1038 billion kWh.

Among the other countries, Japan generated 936.2, compared with 856.7 consumed. India also produced 871 billion kWh and comsumed 698.8 billion kWh. Canda, France, Brazil and Korea Rep. showed a similar pattern, with productio exceeding consumption in each case. In contrast, Germany consumed more electricity than it produced, at 582.5billion kWh and 526.6 billion kWh.
