Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response addresses the task only minimally, as the writer attempts to list almost every data point from the chart in a mechanical fashion rather than selecting and reporting main features or making meaningful comparisons. For instance, the text reads like a repetitive list: 'The No.1 rank is china because china produced... and consume... and 2nd is United States is produce... and consume...'. There is no clear overview of the overall trends or major differences between production and consumption across the top nations. Instead of summarizing the data effectively, the writer relies on a crude sequence of individual figures, leading to a minimal response that lacks proper development of main features.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The text lacks clear overall progression and is essentially written as one giant, continuous run-on sentence separated only by commas and lowercase letters. Information and ideas are not arranged coherently into paragraphs, with the body of the text forming a single undifferentiated block. While the writer attempts to sequence the data using ordinal numbers like 'The No.1 rank', '2nd', '3rd number', and '5th number', referencing is faulty and cohesive devices are inadequate to structure the response properly. There is no introduction, body, or conclusion with appropriate paragraph breaks, making the overall organization difficult to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Vocabulary use is basic and repetitive throughout the response. The writer relies heavily on simple, functional verbs such as 'produced' and 'consume', repeating them constantly for every single country without variation (e.g., 'is produced 561.2 kWh and consume 462.9 kWh'). There are also occasional word-choice and word-form errors, such as using 'consume' where the past tense 'consumed' is needed, or writing 'Kwh' with an incorrect capital letter. The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for conveying basic numerical data, but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher levels.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response features a very limited range of sentence structures, consisting almost entirely of a massive string of clauses linked by coordinating conjunctions and commas without proper terminal punctuation. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb forms, run-on sentences, and lack of subject-verb agreement or proper auxiliary usage, such as in 'china produced electricity in 2014 is 5398' and 'United States is produce electricity'. Punctuation is virtually absent except for commas, resulting in frequent errors that cause difficulty for the reader and distort the flow of meaning.
