Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main extremes accurately: China leads both production and consumption, and Korea has the lowest production figure. The figures given for China, the United States and Russia are also correct. However, the overview is incomplete: Korea is not the lowest in consumption, and Germany’s consumption (582.5) exceeds its production (526.6), unlike the general pattern you imply. The opening also incorrectly groups the countries by continent; the chart ranks countries rather than presenting regional comparisons. Several lower-ranked countries are mentioned only vaguely, so important comparisons—such as Germany’s exception and the broad gap between the top two and the rest—are not clearly reported. Select and compare these features more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two body paragraphs. The overview gives the reader a useful starting point, and the figures for China, the United States and Russia are grouped together logically. However, the progression is weakened by the broad and unclear division into “On the one hand” and “On the other hand”: the latter paragraph lists several countries without explaining their relative positions or differences. Some linking phrases are also mechanical, and references such as “that was” are repeated, making relationships between figures less clear. Organise the details into meaningful comparisons—for example, the two leading countries, then the remaining countries and Germany’s exception—and use clearer links between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “production,” “consumption,” “difference” and “variation,” and the reader can generally understand the topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the description awkward. For example, “output and yeild of the electric power” is not a natural way to describe the chart, while “was show very less variation” does not express the comparison clearly. There are also spelling errors such as “yeild,” “recoded” and “consumped,” and country labels are inconsistently punctuated. Use standard chart language and check spelling; precise terms such as “generated,” “consumed” and “slightly higher” would make comparisons clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the main figures can usually be understood. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in sentences that combine several ideas. Examples include “United States was the second among the all country produced…” and “Brazil, France, Germany, Korea,Rep. was show…”, where sentence structure and verb forms are faulty. Subject–verb agreement and articles are also problematic in “India and Japan was recorded” and “among the all 10 countries.” Some sentences lack clear punctuation or a complete grammatical connection between clauses. Practise building accurate comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “The United States ranked second, producing…,” before adding further details.
