Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the two largest producers and consumers, and most figures you report match the chart. However, the response only partially summarises the main features: it gives many individual figures but offers little clear overview of the overall pattern. There are also important inaccuracies. Japan and India are assigned the wrong production figures, and their ranks are misstated; Japan is fourth and India fifth. The claim that the US and India are the most productive relative to consumption is not supported: India has a relatively large gap, but the US does not lead on this comparison, and Germany is the only country where consumption exceeds production. A clearer overview and accurate selection of key comparisons would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure, moving from the leading countries to the lower-ranked group, and the use of “respectively” helps connect paired figures. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the sentence beginning “Jappan and India” gives incorrect ranks and then lists figures in a way that makes it difficult to identify which country each value belongs to. The final paragraph introduces a comparison without explaining it, and “All the countries production profile is are leading except Germany” is hard to follow. Use a distinct overview paragraph, group the countries by meaningful patterns, and make links between comparisons explicit rather than relying mainly on a long sequence of figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “production,” “consumption,” “billion kWh,” and “respectively,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and some expressions are unnatural or imprecise, such as “comes on number one,” “production profile,” and “comes on bottom three.” Spelling errors, including “Jappan,” “Frace,” and “comsumption,” also reduce accuracy. The phrase “most productive relative to their respective consumption profile” is unclear as a comparison. Aim for standard reporting language such as “ranked first,” “the three lowest-ranked countries,” and “production exceeded consumption,” and check country names carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both longer sentences and comparisons, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors occur frequently enough to make some statements difficult to interpret. For example, “China, the leading country that comes on number one with…” is a sentence fragment, while “Jappan and India comes” has subject–verb disagreement. The final sentence, “All the countries production profile is are leading except Germany,” contains several problems with possessive form, agreement, and sentence construction. There are also inconsistent plural forms in “Brazil, Germany and Korea… comes.” Build more accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses; check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
