Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar graph represent the creation and excess of electricity in ten nation. Units are measured in billion kWh.
It is noticeable that, the production in china topped of the chart as well as the consumption in china miximum while that of, production and consumption is minimum in korea, rep.
Looking it the figure, In the beginning, the production in china is top by 5398 units and consumption in china is also top by 5322 in 2010s. later, in united states have little low then china by around 1300 units in each making and excessing. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the chart’s main extremes: China has the highest production and consumption, while Korea is among the lowest, and you include several relevant figures. However, the overview is incomplete and partly inaccurate: Korea has the lowest production, but Germany—not Korea—has the lowest consumption among the listed countries. The comparison that the United States is about 1,300 units below China is useful, but the final claim that the last four countries range from 500 to 600 in both measures overlooks Korea’s lower figures and Germany’s consumption of 582.5. Japan and India are described only as “similar,” without explaining their relative values. Select the key comparisons more precisely and report the notable exception of Germany’s higher consumption than production.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs of details. This gives the reader some organisation, and sequencing phrases such as “Furthermore” and “At last” signal movement through the countries. However, progression is often mechanical, with repeated “after” transitions, and the details are not grouped around clear comparisons. The phrase “japan and india is just like similar” does not explain the relationship, while the final sentence lists four countries without distinguishing their figures. Improve cohesion by grouping the two leading countries, then the middle and lower producers, and use clear comparisons rather than a sequence of rank announcements.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “production,” “consumption,” “units,” and “position,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the meaning unclear: “creation and excess” does not accurately describe production and consumption, “miximum” is misspelled, and “top place holder” is an unnatural expression. “Excessing” is also not an appropriate verb for electricity consumption. Repetition of “top” and “units” further limits precision. Build a small set of accurate terms for describing data, such as “highest,” “lowest,” “ranked,” “approximately,” and “exceeded,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple statements and longer comparisons, but sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “The bar graph represent” has subject–verb disagreement, and “the production and consumption on russia is third top place holder” has problems with agreement and sentence construction. Articles, capitalization, and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “In the beginning, the production in china is top” and the comma after “noticeable.” These errors sometimes make relationships between figures difficult to follow. Practise accurate simple comparison patterns first—for example, “China produced 5,398 billion kWh, compared with 5,322 billion kWh consumed”—then combine them with clauses using “while” or “whereas.”
